The earliest known history of Thomas content in TRS begins with MSTNoodle, a retired Trainzgineer who made simple yet lovable models and exported them to the game, eventually making them available for download. Some argue he is the father of Thomas in Trainz. Sadly, after his retirement from Trainz, he asked people to stop distributing his models, and wanted them to vanish from history (mostly his exact wording). Why he wanted this is unclear, but many say he doesn't want his models redistributed because many people began reskinning them, mostly into fan characters or OCs (Original Characters). After he got famous for his TTTE models, other people tried to do the same. Some of the most famous to spring from this era (around Trainz 2004) where SodorIsland3D, SodorWorkshops, UKBL and cmburgess. SodorIsland3D is where the next stage began. After they released their Trainz 2006 models, the Trainz community and Thomas fandom seemed to merge like two giant waves. Everyone was downloading content and remaking classic Thomas and Friends episodes in Trainz Simulator, and soon some began making their own stories. SodorIsland3D shut down for a while after people began reskinning their models, just like they did with MSTNoodle. They strictly prohibit this behavour. One user in particular, TheFattHatt, reskinned their 2012 models without permission, and the site closed down a second time. UKBL ran from around Trainz 2006-2009, then shut down, prohibiting the redistribution of their models and selling what remained. Such models like Murdoch where particularly popular. Magandy made models such as Devious Diesel that though not entirely accurate on looks where actually very popular.

In March 2018, SodorIsland3D closed down and removed all their websites due to a user on DeviantArt (who shall not be named) uploading links to all of their 2009 and 2010 content on two separate occasions, despite them being told to stop and remove the links. SI3D have announced they will not return.

has different faces in his later versions.

James, the #5 red tender engine, by MSTNoodle,

for Trainz.  James has more versions of him than

others, as far as 5.  In James' original download,

he had 2 copies of his tender.

Percy, the #6 green tank engine, by MSTNoodle,

for Trainz.  Percy has 6 versions.  He got more faces

on his 5th version.  Versions 3 and 4 had faces with

moving eyes.  

Toby, the #7 brown tram engine, was made by MSTNoodle for Trainz.

He has more that 2 versions.  As mentioned with Duck below, Magandy/CMBurgess

made a version of Toby. (SI3D used this as their Toby.)

Duck, the #8 GWR tank engine, was made by MSTNoodle (left) for Trainz.

He has several versions.  CMBurgess/Magandy made a Duck model

which was different to this one (right).

Donald and Douglas, #9 and 10 (the scottish twins) by

MSTNoodle for Trainz.  There is only one known version

of these two (by MSTNoodle).

Oliver, the #11 GWR engine, by MSTNoodle

for Trainz.  There are more than 3 versions for him.

Magandy/CMBurgess has made a version of him, like Duck.

Bill and Ben, the troublesome twins, by MSTNoodle for Trainz.

3 versions were made for them.  They were given different faces on

version 3, but not changeable.  

Harvey, the #27 crane engine, created by MSTNoodle for Trainz. Supposedly, this model wasn't even finished, and not publicly released. There are only two Harveys for Trainz Simulator.

Murdoch, the 9f orange tender engine, by MSTNoodle

for Trainz.  Murdoch has 1 version.  He was originally one

of the rarest models, but a website released him and he is now

less rare.

Lady, the magical tank engine, by MSTNoodle for Trainz.

She is considered one of the rarest models.

Annie and Clarabel, created by MSTNoodle for Trainz, are Thomas' two faithful carriages. They have not gone through too many changes, and are apparently larger than they should be, but are good work by MSTNoodle nonetheless.

Devious Diesel, the shunter diesel , by MSTNoodle for Trainz.

He is known to have only one version.   Not much else to say about him.

Arry and Bert, the scrapyard twins, by MSTNoodle for Trainz.

These two are exactly the same model, except for the name.

They also have the same horn as diesel.
